Growing Light Montessori School was established in 2002 in Midway, Utah, by Sarah Harrigan and Tara Stafford. It was easy for us to fall in love with Montessori. Our paths crossed while teaching together in a Montessori classroom. We quickly discovered our shared passion for this beautiful philosophy. It touched our hearts, our minds, our spirits. We saw how effective it was. Recognizing there wasn’t a school like it in the Heber Valley, it became our dream to one day share this passion with the families in this community.

We feel so fortunate to have been embraced so warmly by this community, and for the all the children who have touched our lives. The charming and newly constructed school contains an open classroom in which the children can move about and select “works” in which they are interested in mastering. The new school is filled with natural light, love, and laughter.

Growing Light Montessori School follows the philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori and is for children ages 3-6 years old. Our teacher-to-student ratio is 1:8 with a maximum of 20 students. Our programs are either full-day or half-day depending on the age and readiness of the child. Because a child usually continues in our program for 3 years or more, we are an intimate school, knowing the parents and other siblings well. We often have “school social’s” outside of our designated school activities.
